This is the Room 16 ALIM maths group for Room 16 in 2017. These lucky children get an extra 15 minutes of maths a day so we can try and give them an extra bit of help and for Mr Bach to try out some different materials and teaching techniques. This PD is running throughout the school.

Weekly Notices, Week 1, Term 3, 2017

Room 16, Weekly Notices, Term 3, Week 1 (24th - 28th July 2017)

Welcome back to all Room 16 students, I hope you had a good holiday full of fun and lots of holiday reading too. Please remember our refocus on children using their school Google account for learning purposes only at all times. If children are permitted to go on games or look at videos at home they must be logged in with a home login set up by a parent or caregiver. Children will lose chromebook privileges this term if they are found to be ignoring this rule. We will be having regular history checks and a deleted history will be a sign of trying to hide something. We can track deleted histories as well.

I hope that children carried on with Math’s Whizz and Lexia over the holidays. There is a prize for the top Math’s Whizz student in each class with regards to time spent on Math’s Whizz over the holidays.

The principal’s letter and morning tea went down particularly well with the children who were involved with this with Mr MacMillan at the end of last term. This will happen again at the end of term 3 for children who have done particularly well with learning or behaviour.

We have seen progress of all students this term in our latest test results. Ka Pai Kids!!

Ruma Weta children love to write so we would like our students to keep a holiday diary and share it with us all next term.

Thank you for the fantastic Whanau Boards you have brought in..they look amazing. What a neat way to represent your family!

This week the children will be busy completing work on their blogs and finishing any other slide work.

Please ensure the children keep reading over the break...it keeps up their fluency and motivation.
